The Scottish American Athletic Association (SAAA) invites you to become a member. Membership is open to men and women of Scottish descent or to anyone interested in Scottish culture and heritage.

Founded in 1981, the Scottish American Athletic Association (SAAA) is an independent educational, non-secular,
non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation formed to promote the perpetuation of Gaelic-Scottish Culture, traditions, and customs. To that end, the SAAA fosters national and international sports competition and to support and develop athletes for national and international competition in traditional athletic contests. Additionally, the SAAA provides assistance, free of charge to the school or student, to area schools in the form of guest speakers and tutors in the areas of general world history, US history and athletics.
Particular attention is given to "under-performing schools" and "at risk students."

The SAAA is more than just this web site. The SAAA facilitates the running of the athletics at many of the Highland Games on the West Coast of the United States. The SAAA offers a unified set of rules for competition and equipment as part of its sanctioning of a Highland Games. Members of the SAAA are also available to visit schools in the communities we serve as guest lecturers or tutors in the areas of Scottish History and Culture.

SAAA members receive invitations to the many SAAA sanctioned games by postal mail, as well as the 56# News. Members receive a 40% discount on entry fees for the games that the SAAA sanctions. Members can also receive discounts on goods and services from SAAA sponsors.

In the future, members will have access to a "members only" section on this web site for training tips, as well as a "members only" discussion board.

Now is a great time to join!
